EUROPEAN MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR COGNITION SOCIETY

Poster Moolecular Pathways of Cognition

SHORT DESCRIPTION, TOPIC and PURPOSE:

This joint Satellite Conference, organized by the European School for Neuroscience (ESN)
and the European Molecular and Cellular Cognition Society (EMMCS), aims to provide an
in-depth exploration of molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying cognition, synaptic
plasticity, memory formation, and cognitive disorders. The event seeks to foster knowledge
exchange between established researchers and early-career scientists, promoting
collaboration and mentorship within the neuroscience community.

The conference will cover three thematic sessions:

(1) Gene Regulation and Epigenetic Mechanisms in Cognition – highlighting histone
modifications, molecular regulation of neuroplasticity and epigenetic influences
on neuropsychiatric diseases;
(2) Molecular Control of Synaptic Plasticity and Memory Engrams – focusing on
synaptic mechanisms, astrocyte-neuron interactions, and memory engram
stabilization.
(3) Molecular Pathways in Cognitive Disorders – addressing genetic and cellular
models of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative cognitive disorders.
